What is an EE Training ??
Trainers are essential.
More than the transfer of knowledge in a classroom setting, the 13-week semester training aims to equip the saints practically for the harvest field. Discipleship training is synonymous with lifestyle change. Every EE semester is an impartation of vision and passion from one disciple to another.
The EE training will help enhance, complement and strengthen all existing ministries by equipping leaders to serve more effectively and evangelistically.
“Multiplication” is the key.
It is not just winning people to the Lord one by one (addition). But training those won to the Lord to win, and then train, others. In the Book of Acts, we read that the disciples “multiplied” and “multiplied exceedingly.” This shift from addition to spiritual multiplication offers the one real hope of sharing the Gospel with a world population that is, itself, continually multiplying.
EE IS BASED ON 4 BIBLICAL TRUTHS
Every Christian is to be a witness
Acts 1:8 …and you will be My witnesses.
It is the responsibility of the pastor/leader to equip the saints
Ephesians 4:11,12 – It was He who gave some to be… pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith…
Equipping is best done by on-the-job training
Luke 9:1-6 – Jesus sent His disciples out on OJT to preach and to heal
Training soul winners is spiritual multiplication
2 Timothy 2:2 – And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
SIMPLE PRESENTATION
The Gospel presentation is simple, conversational and “story-driven”. It is presented in a very casual manner with room for discussion and questions, which creates an openness in the listener.
By learning small parts of the Gospel each week, including Bible verses and illustrations, people incrementally grasp a Gospel tool that becomes a lifelong mission.
Training format
The 13-week training semester is a balance of classroom discussions and connect activity (on-the-job) experiences. The classroom sessions involve interactive learning through lectures, videos, stories, practice sessions, etc.
Certificates are issued to participants who complete the different levels of training. Certification is important for quality control as we aim to achieve the multiplier effect where one generation of soul-winners continually raise up generation after generation of soul-winners.
ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
Each class climaxes when the teams go out on actual witnessing visitations under the guidance of a trainer. Trainers not only serve as role -models for their trainees, but also provide guidance and a safety net for the trainees so that they may become more and more confident each time they share.
Jesus’ expectation of His followers was that they would seek to connect with those around them, and He modeled for them how to do that. Firstly, He approached and connected with people. Then, He took those people with Him so that they could learn from Him. And finally, as modeled in Luke 10, He sent them out to do what He had shown them. This is the essence of the Connect Activity.
Connect Activity sessions are an absolutely essential element of the EE training. Without it you are not doing EE.
Prayer Partners
The training is soaked in prayers, and prayer partners are mobilised, as we follow God’s leading.
Just as Aaron and Hur lifted Moses’s in Exodus 17, we believe that we cannot do God’s work on our own. Each person in the training is encouraged to find 2 friends to support them and pray together.
Prayer Partners meet with the trainers or trainees each week for 13 weeks to pray together.
